There is a migration of Hogansburg, N.Y Slot machines to the New York casino. The owner of this casino is the Mohawk Indian tribe.
The Mohawk reservation located on U-S-Canadian borders will be able to enjoy from a substantial Slot machine addition of one-thousand brand new steel bandits to the rest of their casino game offerings. The federal Bureau of Indian affairs approved the amendment on the gambling compact in this area. The state Legislature passed the amendment in June, 1993 and the Governor signed it on October.
The official of the tribe believe that the addition of Slot machines will enlarge the proceeds from the slot gaming operations, enticing more new comers to the North Country.
Seven hundred machines are expected to be inhabited within six month and another three hundred within a year.
