The Oregon Lottery is expecting a supplement of new electronic slot machines and officials are forecasting the proceeds to jump up high. According to the retailers they were offered a raw deal in regards to sharing the expected slot revenues. That ignited an ante response in groups advocating for children and schools, who've expressed their indignation saying that video lottery yields more than enough proceeds and therefore, less money should be allocated to them.
It is still up to the commission to rule the payout gauge the retailers should receive once the games are enacted. Lottery Director, Dale Penn has come up with a proposition that will allow bars and taverns to get some profit from the new slot machine transaction, but avoid reaching the scale of the windfall. His proposal was to curtail the poker commission rate by 3 percent for the 2,000 facilities practicing the games.
This offer was met by strong opposition from the retailers who have flocked into the hearing room, expressing their disbelief that slots would produce as much revenues as anticipated by the officials. The Oregon School Employees Association, on the other hand has said that the Lottery Commission has been given a second chance to do what it should have done a long time ago, meaning lowering by 15 percent the commission rates.
