A state level debate in Pennsylvania is about to take on regarding the integration of slot machines on the airport territory. The proceeds from this prospective gaming activity would be directed into the budget patching of the local airport and other airports across the state. The idea behind is not to turn an airport into a national gambling arena, but install about 100 to 150 machines that would improve the overall state of affairs.
After the 2004 July ruling on allowing gambling at 14 sites, that drained lots of strength, the chances that lawmakers will embark upon a new gambling feat are zero tilted. Barry J. Centini, director of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport has raised a question of "why not us?" alluding to Nevada airport where such gambling endeavors have already been enacted. Annual profits amounting to millions of dollars are coming from slot machines in Las Vegas and Reno airports.
The first step that has to be done on the way to realization of this venture is by the advisory committee that would have to forward the proposal to the governor who in cooperation with the legislators would have to settle the controversial matters. Mr. Centini proposed to pass a bill that will allow the nearest casino to plant slot machines in an airport sharing some of the revenues with the airport
