River Falls Gaming Texas-based partnership has come out with a proposal to plant at least 4,000 additional slot machines in the Kensas City area with several new gambling parlors. However, the proposal has stumbled onto a heavy opposition from Woodlands and officials. The prospective 2,000 slots that were expected to be incorporated in the Woodlands were taken a back by the track executive, Larry Seckington who set to redirect the prospective slot revenue share into the track requirements and provisions that would establish racing schedules.
Village West, Kickapoo, Sac and Fox Native American tribes agreed to accept additional 600 slot machines signing in the late 2004 an agreement with Woodlands to receive a back up for their casino ownership plan under the compact with the state. Should the tribal proposition flop, the Woodlands would submit plans from previous years allowing them to operate their own casino and hotel at the track.
The records show that since 2002, River Falls Gaming, regulated by Canadian financial interests has been quite unsuccessful in its attempts to forward the privately maintained state-owned casinos operated by Kansas Lottery.
