The House of Delegates has made a final decision to approve slot machines in Maryland. Upon this announcement a great celebration was made where Maryland governor was capture in a casual dressing out on his lawn in Annapolis, screeching how-dee-dos to startled people passing by and fooling around like a kid who'd just won a game.
It seems that gambling companies will have to plank down large sums of money before slot machines could finally be installed. The Gov. Ehrlich's associates were telling reporters that slots could be live and kicking in about nine month. The House Speaker, Michael Busch has presented the rules for a 45-day legislative smackdown. The deal was nonnegotiable. This however was preceded by the prolonged grumbling of the House considering the utter immorality of this venture, where old and poor are sacrificed for the welfare of the young.
According to Busch, the political careers of the three Montgomery legislators, Jean Cryor from Potomac and Sheila Hixson and Henry Heller, both from Silver Spring who voiced their support for slots, are on the way to the dumpster.
