  Bush pursues slot machine cancellation
The approval of slots in Miami-Dade County might be thwarted any time as Gov. Jeb Bush has come out with an announcement to do whatever in his power including extracting financed from his network to balk voters from polling for Las Vegas-style slots. Broward slot opponents with Broward County Mayor Kristin Jacobs and School Board attended a meeting in which Bush has promised to see into the matter of money raising closely, though he mentioned that it is quite lamentable that vast number of people are hooked on this idea, believing that fortune awaits them, once machines are incorporated.

Bush contended later that if Broward referendums passes, he will hold negotiations with the Legislature to formulate legislation that would limit the number of slot machines at each prospective spot together with tax rates and other regulations. Despite shortage in time, the governor ensured his appearance on the anti-slots TV and radio ads.

Bush bewared that hosting slot machines at pari-mutuels would instigate more illegal ventures; traffic jams and most importantly wound the middle-income Floridians who may not be able to recuperate after severe gambling losses. He also admonished slot supporters for not specifying that the consequences of slots approval. The majority of voters are not aware that once referendum passes slots, the state tax dollars raised on the machines will be wired for funding educational purposes but not merely within South Florida borders.
