Bush opposes South Florida slots at race tracks
South Florida slot machine campaign created uproar when Gov. Jeb Bush dashed accusations at campaign members for deluding citizens with worthless promises for better educational facilities. He said that the society is on the verge of a dramatic slippage towards the vile world of Las-Vegas, where casinos are the primary funding source for city maintenance.

Bush, a fierce slots opponent have contacted the Christian Coalition of South Florida, saying that March referendum in Broward and Miami-Dade counties is bound to proliferate large number of casinos all over the sate. Furthermore, he added that installing slots at parimutuel facilities would oblige him to get in touch with two Florida Indian tribes who already regulate casinos in the state, claiming that according to the federal law they are free to conduct any type of gambling. Since Indian casinos are absolved from paying state taxes, the parimutuels are likely to seek opportunities to overlay these casinos, demanding to expand their own gambling industry with more slot machines, larger casino facilities and more contention places to stand up against native American tribes.

Slots opponents attempt to collaborate with the state’s chief executive, who is powerful enough to inhibit any legislation of slot machines, to put an end to a plan according to which slots would be infused at seven racetracks and jai-alai frontons in the two counties.
