A group of investors led by Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. recently bought the right to acquire the Tasty Baking Co. headquarters and distribution facility in Nicetown near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The investor group Keystone Redevelopment Partners LLC already has a five-year option to buy an adjoining piece of land, where it reportedly intends to establish a temporary slots casino. At a later stage, the group, which is currently among five hopefuls for the city's two gambling licenses, would build the larger Trumpstreet Casino and Entertainment Complex on the Tasty Baking site.
At first, the planned gaming venue would feature 1,500 slot machines. Later on, the number of slots is likely to reach as many as 3,000. According to Trump, the entertainment and gaming complex would create about 1,000 new job vacancies. The group also promised to allocate up to $600,000 a year from its slots and other local revenues for the funding of community projects.
