Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Accepting Applications for Slots Licenses
According to a recent report, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, which is expected to produce as many as 14 slots operation licenses for casinos across Pennsylvania, has started accepting applications for the licenses. The application forms are available at the Board's Internet site, www.pgcb.state.pa.us.
The forms posted at the aforementioned site are for Category 2 gaming facilities, i.e. standalone casinos slated to open in the future, and for Category 3 gaming venues, i.e. already operating facilities seeking to install slot machines on their premises. The deadline to submit the applications is Dec. 28th. Board members must reach their decisions regarding the slots licenses within a year.
However, thus far, there has not been a mad dash from potential bidders. One of the main reasons for this is the fact that the application forms are rather lengthy, requiring slots casino hopefuls to include extremely detailed information regarding their businesses. It will likely be some time before even the most experienced casino operators will manage filing them.
