Slots Licenses Experience Further Delay in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania's road to permitting slots and lowering school properties is at a dead end. State Gaming Control Board members are struggling to figure out how to license slot-machine suppliers. Until an agreement is reached, Pennsylvanians will have to continue playing slots in states nearby where gambling is legal.
Currently the state's slots law requires that operators of casinos get their games from in-state suppliers. However, this same law prohibits the board from awarding gaming licenses until 90 days after it has licensed game manufacturers and suppliers.
Applications have not even been taken from possible suppliers yet, and therefore, the process of permitting slots has been delayed.
