Penn National Gaming Inc. Wants More Slots at Charles Town Races & Slots
Penn National Gaming Inc., owner of Charles Town Races & Slots, is currently seeking authorization of the state Lottery Commission to install an additional 1,500 slot machines on the premises of the facility. The venue is located in Charles Town, West Virginia.

John Finamore, senior vice president of regional operations for the company, was reported as saying that the reason behind such a move is the fact that sometimes patrons of the slots venue are forced to wait long hours before they can play a certain slot machine, and numerous potential customers are not being reached.

If the request is approved, the project is expected to be complete by the end of 2006, leaving the facility with 6,000 slot machines. The Lottery Commission is scheduled to conduct a public hearing on the issue on October 26 at the Bavarian Inn and Lodge in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
