Judge Reiterates Slots Approval in Broward County, Florida
According to a recent report, the Fourth District Court of Appeal reaffirmed Broward Circuit Court Judge Leroy Moe's previous ruling. In July, Moe announced that the four gaming facilities in Broward County, Florida, are no longer obligated to wait for the state Legislature to produce slots regulations, in order to install and operate slot machines.

The legal battle over slots in Broward began early this summer, after Florida legislative authorities kept delaying the issuance of relevant regulations. Moe ordered lawmakers to produce the aforementioned regulations by July 1st, and after they failed to do so, he authorized four Broward parimutuels to run slots. Later, an appeal filed by Broward State Attorney Michael Satz prevented the gaming venues from realizing the ruling.

In turn, the parimutuels, represented by attorney at law Tom Julin, turned to the courts again, and Moe permitted them to install slots despite Satz's appeal. Last Wednesday was the second time the Florida state judge ruled positively on the slots matter. However, Satz, determined to impede unregulated slots in the county, reportedly plans to appeal again.
