Hollywood, Florida, Wants Share of Future Slots Revenue
According to a recent report, Hollywood officials requested that city residents address Florida Governor Jeb Bush regarding slot machines and even offered to pay postage expenses. Hollywood residents were asked to urge Gov. Bush to make sure that the city gets a certain share of revenues to be produced by future slots casinos.

Hollywood has maintained that it is entitled to a share of revenues to be generated by slot machines at four gaming venues located in neighboring cities. City officials also reportedly argued that patrons of the slots parlors would cause heavy traffic problems, and that Hollywood's fire and police departments would be required to attend more emergency cases.

Although the four authorized gaming venues, Hollywood Greyhound Track and Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, and Dania Jai-Alai and Pompano Park harness track, are still waiting for the Legislature to issue regulations on slots operation in order to install slot machines, city Mayor Mara Giulianti reportedly said that the time has already come to act on the matter.
