Students of Lehigh University Debate on Future Slots Casino
It was recently reported that although the City Council of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, has approved the construction of a slots casino in the city, Lehigh University students expressed mixed feelings regarding the potential proximity of the future gaming facility to their educational institution.

Many students reportedly mentioned the positive influence of a slots parlor on the entire region. Some of them spoke of gamblers coming from New Jersey and spending their money on slots. Others talked of new job vacancies created by the casino. Among other benefits, many mentioned the fact that a new slots casino would create more tax revenue for the state.

However, some also spoke of the negative impact of a nearby slots casino. For instance, several students said that parents, afraid of gambling addictions, would not want to send their children to a university having a casino in its proximity. Students who oppose slots gambling reportedly believe that no one will truly benefit from it.
