Pittsburgh Citizen's Gaming Advisory Panel to Decide Slots Casino Location
In late March, Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy appointed the Pittsburgh Citizen's Gaming Advisory Panel, whose duties include, among other things, finding an appropriate location for the city's future slots casino. Members of the panel reportedly plan to examine at least five locations where different property developers have suggested constructing a slots casino. The panel is expected to produce a report listing the pros and cons of each location by fall, 2005.
Last Summer, Pennsylvania legislative authorities legalized slots installation across the state. The State Gambling Control Board is about to issue 14 slots gambling licenses in the near future. Pittsburgh is entitled to one slots parlor as a standalone site.
