Two Slots Thieves Arrested by Louisiana State Police
Louisiana State Police recently arrested two men suspected of stealing from slot machines at the Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino in Saint Landry Parish, LA. John Tramwell Compton, 28, the facility's slot machine technician and Kenneth A. Doucet, 37, a casino patron, were accused of stealing slots earnings.
According to documents filed with the 27th Judicial District Court, the slots tech and the gambler had an agreement, under which the technician was to ‘fix’ a slot machine so it would give out the maximum amount of money. Afterwards, the two were to share it.
The facility’s surveillance camera reportedly caught the encounter between the two on tape, including Compton’s ‘fixing’ of the slot machine. Doucet was arrested by State Police when he went to cash out his winnings. Currently, both the accused are being held in the St. Landry Parish prison.
