A $1.5 Billion Casino and Slot Parlor Planned to be Built at Pocono Manor
Greg Matzel, the president of Matzel Development, said that a contract for building a $1.5 billion complex of casino and slots was signed with the Pocono Manor resort.
A part of the planned casino-slots parlor will involve getting a license for 5K slot machines. This means that Matzel and his slots casino are about to compete with other projects, which already exist or are planned for Lehigh Valley, such as the Mount Airy Lodge and Pocono Raceway.
Apart from Matzel's planned slots project at the Pocono Manor, two other major casino and slots operators are in search of lands to build their own slots projects in the area of Allentown and Bethlehem, PA.
Pocono Manor, which was built at 1902, is a 250-room hotel, which is surrounded by two golf courses. In addition to the planned slots parlor, Matzel wishes to build a shopping and leisure center, an indoor water park, and above all – a railroad station with a line between the Pocono Manor slots resort and New York City.
