Broward Gaming Commissioners Put off Producing Slots Regulations
Due to a pending appeal regarding slot machines in Broward County filed by Florida State Attorney, Michael Satz, members of the county's Gaming Commission reportedly announced that there is currently no need for them to produce any regulation on the matter.
Previously, Circuit Judge Leory Moe ruled that unless Florida legislative authorities generate the necessary regulations regarding slots by July 1, he would do so himself. As a result of Moe's decision, the Commissioners decided on an emergent meeting to discuss the issue. The appeal filed by Satz, however, led them to change their plans.
As an alternative to voting on slot machines, members of the Broward Gaming Commission voted to appoint a consultant that would explore slots operation regulations in different cities across the state of Florida.
