Immediately after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court endorsed the constitutionality of Act 71, the state’s gaming law, Penn National Gaming Inc., a racing venue operator seeking a license to run slots, publicly announced that it is ready to begin construction on a new slots parlor.
Wyomissing, PA-based Penn National reportedly expressed wishes to become a serious contender in Pennsylvania’s slot machine gaming industry, and has all the intentions to invest $240 million in the construction of a new racetrack and slots facility near Harrisburg.
According to Eric Schippers, company spokesperson, Penn National Inc. awaits slots regulations from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, and the ultimately issuance of slot machines operation licenses.
