Ex-Pilot Hits $1.3m Slots Jackpot at the Oregon Casino
Former United Airlines pilot John Vanderwest, 64 years of age, hit a jackpot of $1.3 million, while playing the “Bally Cash for Life” nickel slot machine at the Three Rivers Casino in Florence, Oregon.

Vanderwest and his wife, Bonnie, revealed that they usually visit the casino once a week. Since they had not been lucky, as of late, they decided to try other slot machines. However, when Vanderwest gave his favorite machine one last chance, he was rewarded big time.

When asked how the slots money would be spent, the Vanderwests announced that they will purchase a baby grand piano for the wife, and a boat, for the husband. Additionally, Mr. Wanderwest reportedly said that the money will serve as a safety net, since his future pension plan is uncertain.
