No Casino Combats Proposed Slots in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
It was recently reported that the No Casino group, which opposes slots gambling across the United States, announced that it will fight the new project proposed by Chance Enterprises to construct a gaming resort & spa in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Rev. Thomas Grey, a No Casino supporter, was reported as saying that gambling causes nothing but trouble, leaving neighborhoods, which are located adjacent to slots gaming facilities, with social ailments such as crime and addiction. The director of the National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling reportedly said that he is prepared to support Grey’s statement.
Nevertheless, slots supporters are not planning to renounce the idea of slots in Gettysburg. According to David LeVan, of Chance Enterprises, residents of the city must consider the positive affects of slots operation in the vicinity, namely that it will provide many job vacancies for the unemployed and produce approximately $10 million in annual revenue for Adams County.
