New Bill Might Reauthorize Video Slots in Volusia County, Florida
It was recently reported that, due to an ambiguity in the proposed customer protection bill, video slot machines might be reauthorized and consequently reopened in Volusia County, Florida. In the coming days, the governor is expected to decide whether or not to approve slots.

Opponents of slots gambling fear that the dollar bill amendment provided in the bill, might give the administrators of video slot machines the freedom to operate slots in their facilities once again. This is due to the fact that the newly suggested amendment overrides the ‘coins only’ rule which outlawed video slots in the first place.

Ormond Beach Senator, Evelyn Lynn, who is promoting the bill, reportedly said that her original intention was to legalize slots operation in locations such as Daytona Beach's Boardwalk in order to allow them to purchase upgraded Pinball machines that receive dollar bills as well. Lynn, however, says that she never meant to sanction slots in Volusia.
