Prominent Entrepreneurs Seek Slots Distribution License in Pennsylvania
Several slots industry entrepreneurs are reportedly seeking licenses to distribute slot machines in Pennsylvania. Among the many interested is Melissa Heller, a major slots industry lobbyist and a former employee of the Philadelphia City Council, as well as Robert Nix III, the president of KGM Gaming LLC.
Such an interest to acquire a slots license has been caused in part by the somewhat contentious condition set by Pennsylvania’s slot-machine gambling law. According to this law, slots equipment manufacturers can not supply their products to Pennsylvanian casinos unless they cooperate with an in-state intermediary.
Pennsylvania’s Gaming Control Board has not yet revealed its comments on the matter. However, The Associated Press has obtained documents in which the Board contemplates setting certain requirements to be fulfilled by those who wish to be issued a slots license.
