Slots Could Get Clearance for Nevada Liquor Stores
The Nevada state Gaming Control Board recently proposed two amendments to the state's present gambling laws. Both proposals, which are scheduled to be discussed by the Gaming Commission on May 19, would make it possible to operate slots in liquor stores.
One of the amendments concerns how the state characterizes liquor stores, while the second appeals for the approval of slots in liquor stores. Other businesses, such as bars, saloons and grocery stores already operate slot machines in their facilities.
The board agreed that although liquor stores should be granted the option of installing slots, the number of slot machines should be lower than other slots establishments. This provision is meant to ensure that the number of liquor stores will not drastically increase, as was the case with regards to convenience stores.
