WMS Gaming to Create WSOP Themed Slots through Deal with Harrah's
Harrah’s License Company, LLC recently announced, together with its affiliates, Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. and WMS Gaming Inc., that WMS Gaming has received Harrah’s approval to license the sought-after World Series of Poker (WSOP) brand for use on new slot machines. The purpose of this agreement is to create and install innovative concepts for slot machine games on WMS’s Blue Bird gaming equipment.

The contract demands that the WSOP slots games will be accessible in Harrah’s casinos only, for a limited period of three years. When the exclusivity period is over, other casinos will be offered the opportunity to install the WSOP slots game on their machines.

Harrah’s Senior Vice President of Slots, Mr. Ken Weil, was reported as saying that the contract between the companies constitutes "a logical extension of our valued brand to the casino floor." According to Mr. Weil, Harrah’s selected WMS for this project, because of the fact that WMS had already proven itself in a number of previous shared ventures. WMS industries’ CEO, Mr. Brian Gamache, was reported as saying that WMS is very grateful for the opportunity to cooperate with Harrah and that he is confident that both companies and the casino customers will benefit from it.
