Indian American tribes were granted unlimited slot machines amazingly reminiscent to the character of one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s famous movies, ‘The Terminator’. Schwarzenegger, the governor was the one to initiate the arrival of these steel terminators to California. Some could not help but raising eyebrows, stealthily, following such peculiar sequence of events in the gambling industry. The governor’s aids hurried to reassure the doubtful crowd that Terminator slots action was not triggered by any personal advantages to the governor.
These machines are the latest technological achievement in slot-giant International Game Technology, brewed for several years. Schwarzenegger intercepted the earlier version of the machine, suing its developers by pretence of a too close resemblance to his own voice and image, without his permission. The later variant of Terminator, five-reel video slot, manufactured for the U.S. market was introduced in Missouri, but only in December enacted in California.
Schwarzenegger’s deputy, Vince Sollitto announced that there are no authorized slot machines that incoprorate copyrights controlled by the governor. His aides contended that he does not capitalize on arrangement for the Terminator slots. A spokeswoman for Viejas, one of the tribes negotiating the Terminator deal, said that machines were not associated in any way with the governor, but were rather just one of the new products.
